Chocolate is the universal symbol of love and friendship. It’s a universally shared sweet treat. And it’s usually made with special ingredients that are far from common. If you’re a chocolate lover, why not turn that into a party-time treat?
You don’t have to be an expert in baking or pastry to make homemade chocolate for your guests. This recipe is simple yet tasty. Just 3 ingredients and you will have the perfect homemade chocolate for your party guests.
Ingredients:
- 6 squares of semi-sweet chocolate (roughly 1/2 pound)
- 1 cup water (enough to cover the chocolate)
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons white sugar, divided
1) Heat oven to 350 degrees F; line an 8 by an 8-inch baking sheet with aluminum foil; spray foil with nonstick cooking spray.
2) Melt chocolate and water in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth, about 2 minutes. Stir in 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and 1/4 cup sugar; set aside to cool slightly, stirring occasionally until mixture thickens slightly but not stiff enough to form a ball while stirring constantly, about 7 minutes.
3) Prepare a baking sheet by spreading ½ inch of melted chocolate on the bottom half of the surface and sprinkle the top side with 2 tablespoons of the remaining sugar and cocoa powder; press down gently so the surface does not stick together but remains spread out for best results; set aside for 30 seconds before moving onto next step
4) Pour melted chocolate mixture onto prepared cookie sheet using a spatula or spoon; spread evenly using back of a spoon to remove air bubbles and leave any visible areas uncovered as much as possible once transferred from pan; use spatula or spoon to lift edge off cookie sheet so it is flat all over but do not press down on the surface as it will only take about 30 seconds before it will begin to stick again
5) Bake cookies at 350 degrees F for 8 minutes or until edges begin to brown then transfer them onto a wire rack and let cool completely before eating
